Hi,
I am new to this field, so need help.
Actually, I will complete my b.com this year in Pakistan and hopefully will be immigrating to Canada by next year. My problem is whether I should register foe ACCA in Pakistan or Canada. Please advise. Moreover, please guide me if there are some other courses that I can go for in Canada and also if I do ACCA, will I have to get license in Canada before applying for the job.
Need help,
Shajia

From what i hear, if you have an ACCA, you can get accredited or coverted to the canadian equvalent, if you apply to the relevant prof. body. The relevant prof. chartered accountant body in canada has an agreement with ACCA to recognise their qualification.

salam shajia..well shajia there are good options availaible there in canada but the problem is that if u havnt completed your ACCA then you will definitely face difficulties there, as there are equal to no quality tution provider..Any how if you are part qualified you can apply for part exemption of CGA and can continue doing CGA from there besides you can easily access to the accountancy firms on the basis of part qualification but again the problem is same that you wont be able to complete your ACCA from there as there are few tution provider...And do you know 1 thing that you can also get the exemption of ICAEW at free of cost, this free offer is only valid for students not for affiliate and the last date is 31st december, so hurry up. but yet again there is a problem that on the basis of CGA you can't apply for remaining ICAEW exemption.
The best option availaible in my opinion is to complete your ACCA 1st then apply for CGA full exemption (no paper 'll need to give only have to do the law n tax course, which is around $600). And before applying for canada make sure that you have obtained your BSC applied in accounts degree from oxford brookes university..regards Hamza Siddiqui..

What do u suggest a man who wants to immigrate with family of wife and 2 sons ( one is university beginer and the other is reading in class V) at the age exceeding 50 years. Whether job finding will be a problem or not?

Hi Mahtab,
I would recommend looking into the Business categories for Immigration, if he'she is above 49 in age. Canada has a big push now in most of the business classes. A provincial program generally bypasses the Federal Skilled Worker points requirement.
Best Wishes,
Bob

Dear All,
Appreciate if anyone can advise, I am a CIMA qualified from Malaysia. Age 48. Over 20 years experiance, over 7years as a 5yrs CFO in a manufacturing plant, 2 years as Audit Manager and currently over a year as CFO in a plantation in Myanmar. I have not put in the papars but i hve a score of above 67 depnding on my English test.
How do i get my CIMA qualificiations accredited although CIMA has a MRA program. Written to CMA and they hae a long list to get membership. Is it better to go in as Financal managers or Financial auditors.
Thank you
