My Fear

Posted on Jun. 17th 2008 at 06:31 pm EDT (71 views, 4 comments)

Hi friends,
This is the first time I am participating. I dont really know whether my topic should be "My Fear" or "I need to Know". I have gone through the Canadian Embassy Website severally but I still wonder why it takes such a long time to live and work in Canada! Is it the same with you there? Or I am not getting it!!!! I hope to visit before the end of this year but how do I start?

Hello,
I think canadavisa.com is very helpful, and can answer most of your questions. It is a very long process, we applied a year ago and we still have to wait around three years to get there, if we are approved.

Hi guys,
Thanks so much drfay. I think you have been able to throw some rays of light into this issue. and I quite agree with pepsy that different sources give different infos which is not too good for us. I am actually taking my time to get some infos on the canadianimmigrant.ca as drfay suggested and I am begining to like it. I still want to know what the next steps would be, after the assessment (you know the 67 points drama!). It is good to know that I am able to share infos with people of like minds. Thanks guys.

Hi, Layomi: "I need to know," would be good. We all need to know, it seems :)! It does seem as if it takes a long time. I don't know why, either. I recently decided I may just take the plunge and go there. I am in the US; and although it may seem easy from here, the issues are just about the same. Ironically, Canadians come to the US all the time and settle right in -- or they used to. Things have gotten tighter. And I think THAT's the prevailing issue: everything has gotten tighter. I just keep sending out my resume and keeping my fingers crossed. Also, I agree with pepsy that different sources give different information. I found a job board at canadianimmigrant.ca that may have some things that may interest you. Good luck and keep trying.

My friend, Peter who lives in Australia and I are having the same problem as you. One website tells us one thing and another web site tells us something different. It is so confusing. Pepsy
